I'd just keep an eye one her and as long as it doesn't sound worse she's probably fine. As for her size pekins are very large ducks so her being big compared to the other ducks it normal.
How old is she? When my three oldest pekins where younger (under a year) two of them kind of sounded weird when they were breathing. I thought it was asthma or something like that, but as they got older it went away... not sure if that's normal for ducks or even the breed. Although they still...
Haha, I have a drake and hen that sound just like her. Earlier today I was changing door latches on the duck house and the two of them kept coming over and nibbling on me but if I went to pet them or spoke to then they'd stand up tall and start "yellin" at me.
Alright! Thanks. I few of them are starting but one just doesn't sound like the others so I'm hoping that that one is a drake and the others are girls because I'm only keeping girls.
Can anyone tell me when I should be able to voice sex my Pekin ducklings? They are almost a month old and are starting to go from peeping to quacking. I think one is a boy but when they're this young in not sure what gender sounds like what. Also I read that drakes tend to have their tales...
Does anyone know if feather sexing works on day old Pekin ducklings? I have a duckling in my bator starting to hatch I believe it's internally pipped or at least it looks and sounds like it so once I can I'd really like to know the sex especially because I only want hens.
